2. Motivation for exchange

Why did you choose to go on study exchange?

I heard about the good experiences of other people.

What is the reason you chose for this country/university?

I alreally liked Barcelona and it also has a good Economics and Business faculty.

3. Accessibility to reach destination

Do you have any tips to reach your exchange destination?

Take the airplane. Within the city you can travel unlimited with the T-Jove (which is a 3-monthly card for students for 100 euro).

4. University and studying

Could you provide some general information about the followed courses?

How is the study formalized?

In general the courses were quite clear. You knew what to do. In the beginning you have to get used to the different layout of their semester (you got all the courses at the same time, for a period of 5 months).

What is the culture of the university?

It’s really easy to get in touch with the teachers, they are very helpful.

What does the university offer the student additionally?

They have catering, sports and a printshop. I didn’t really make use of it.

5.Housing-travelling-living

What are the possibilities for housing?

I decided to search for a room in Barcelona itself. Within 1.5 day I had six viewings and I could move in at all of them. The second day, I chose the best one. Via idealista you can get in touch with the landowners.

What is the culture of the country like?

Really nice food, activities are starting quite late (sometimes around 11/12 am).

Could you give a general price indication of the place of residence compared to living in Wageningen?

It’s quite expensive to live in Barcelona if you want to experience it to the fullest. But if you want to make it cheap, it’s possible.

Could you give some information about public transport infrastructure?

Public transport is really cheap. You can travel unlimited with buses, metros and trams for only 100 Euro for 3 months.

6. Challenges & best moment abroad

 

What was a challenge you have experienced?

Finding a room, but in the end it turned out to be really easy.

What was your best memory abroad?

Making new friends.
